He took the race issue head on, ignoring the damage it may do to his campaign, he heavily denounced the remarks by his former Paster, but stopped short of disowning him, saying "I cannot disown him, the same way I can't disown my white Grandmother for remarks she made about black men". He found a way to acknowledge his diverse past and at the same time explain the obstacles that lay ahead of our country on race. This is why Barack Obama should be our next president.
